The short version

Speroverse is a personal hobby site with trivia games, sports and fantasy tools, and music/TV trackers. It doesn't run ads, sell data, or share anything with third parties beyond what's required to make the features work (e.g. TMDB for movie posters, ESPN for team logos).

What we collect

  • Anonymous player ID. When you first load a game we generate a random UUID and store it in your browser's localStorage. It isn't linked to your name, email, or IP. Clearing browser storage resets it.
  • Optional display name. If you enter a name on the leaderboard it's stored in our database alongside your player ID and your game answers.
  • Your game submissions. Puzzle answers, scores, and completion timestamps so we can show leaderboards and personal stats.
  • Server logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps short-lived access logs that may include IP addresses. We don't retain them ourselves.

What we don't do

  • No ad networks, analytics pixels, or cross-site tracking.
  • No sale of data to anyone.
  • No accounts, passwords, or email addresses collected unless you opt in (e.g. the Spotify integration, which only stores its OAuth tokens in an httpOnly cookie for the session).

Third-party services

We call the following to render the site:

  • TMDB (movie/TV posters and metadata)
  • Spotify (optional music features)
  • ESPN public APIs (team logos, schedules, stats)
  • Supabase (our database host)
  • Vercel (hosting + basic speed/analytics)

Delete your data

You can remove everything tied to your anonymous player ID — scores, names, and leaderboard entries — from your Spee profile page. Look for the "Danger Zone" section near the bottom. The button also clears the local data your browser stored.

If for some reason that doesn't work, email the address below and we'll delete the data manually.
